Unidentified gunmen have attacked the Plateau State Polytechnic Staff Quarters in Heipang, Barki Ladi Local Government Area, Platea State, abducting the sister of the institution’s Assistant Registrar, Ezekiel Rangs. The incident comes three months after gunmen attacked the same staff quarters, abducting the son of the federal institution’s Chaplain, Reverend Andrew Dido, who was subsequently freed after the payment of ransom. President Muhammadu Buhari has dismissed the reports that his London trip was to compile the list of persons to be appointed as ministers during his second tenure. A Nigerian company, Biatemp Ventures Ltd., has dragged First Bank of Nigeria and the Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) to court. The company is demanding N25 billion for special and general damages over alleged manipulation of its domiciliary account and illegal withholding of its Tax Clearance Certificate. The Federal High Court in Abuja has rejected an ex parte application for an order stopping President Muhammadu Buhari from swearing in Justice Tanko Muhammad as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria.
