Monday, November 2, 2020, the Executive Chairman, Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area, Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola issued a ban on the activities of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), motorcycle and tricycle operators in Ajegunle.

Community Watch Plus got the information from a Press Release made public by the Office of the Executive Chairman on Monday read in part; “the ban on activities of NURTW and other commercial transport operators would remain effective pending the conclusion of investigation over the recent loot, arson and destruction of buildings, properties, bank facilities and vehicles inside the council secretariat.

Relevant security agencies such as the commissioner for Police in Lagos State, CP Odumosu, Chairman of NURTW in Lagos State, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya and others have been briefed on the latest development.”

To what a lot of people have dubbed a Black Tuesday, the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Secretariat was attacked by hoodlums who looted every office, vandalized and burnt 86 cars and set every building in the Council Secretariat ablaze.
