Can’t really say why we decided to use this Sisqo’s track for such an anticipated event as this. The electrifying glamour that greeted the debut studio album by American R&B singer Sisqo of Dru Hill, released on November 30, 1999 brings to mind what might be felt by either Hon. Rita Orji or Hon. Kolawole Taiwo when INEC finally makes their proclamation tomorrow in their favour.

We can’t but imagine how fists will be punched into the air by party loyalists who would certainly throng Ajeromi-Ifelodun Council Secretariat where INEC is set to have a Stakeholders meeting to put to an end, the agony, tension and mental torture that has ravaged both candidates gunning for the exalted House of Representatives in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency.

It might interest you to know and have at the back of your mind that no election in the history of this populous community has ever gotten everyone thinking and pitching tents with their preferred candidate.

It was on the heel of a rerun that Hon. Rita Orji filed a suit and wanted the court to restrain INEC from going ahead with the planned rerun elections on the 9th day of March, 2019 at 71 polling units in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency  pending the hearing and final determination of the suit.

This interim injunction coming just 2 days to the proposed rerun was seen as a last gasp and act of desperation as the electorates were already anticipating a rerun.

On the set date, some polling units had people voting for the rerun because they did not get to hear about the exparte order until about 8:00am.

And now that the court has unequivocally held that inasmuch as they cannot stop the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from performing its constitutional duty which includes the conduct of a rerun in an inconclusive election, INEC should first declare the result so far collated before declaring same inconclusive.

After the court’s judgment, the PDP’s candidate, the incumbent, Hon. Rita Orji went on Facebook to declare herself the winner and also called a press conference in Abuja claiming she won the election with over 11,000 (eleven thousand) votes, stating that INCE should handover to her, her Certificate of Return.

This some saw as hand-twisting INEC to declare her the winner and also get the sympathy of the people.

Community Watch Plus went to the streets and sampled the minds of Ajeromi-Ifelodun indigenes on the issue. Beyond party lines, the common man on the street had been thrown into the fray, and all you hear on the streets, market places, newsstands and joints is the same..

Sounding the cymbal of discussions might seem partisan; however, some still believes Rita would be handed her Certificate of Return while others believe a rerun is inevitable. That certainly depends on the camp you belong.

Now that INEC is set to take a stand on the issue tomorrow, Thursday, all comers will have their fingers crossed, and when the dragon is eventually unleashed, we can’t imagine what the atmosphere would look like.

We certainly know Hon. Kolawole Taiwo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) would be present; however, we can’t wait to see if Hon. Rita Orji would, as she has never stepped her foot into the Council Secretariat since assuming the position of member, Federal House of Representatives, and did not also show up in court throughout the process.

You might wish to make anything out of her absence, but the fact still remains that tomorrow will be very remarkable.

Community Watch Plus is of the opinion that she finds her way to the venue as ‘election no be war’.

We can imagine what is going through the minds of the people now but we would want to leave you with this lyrics till we come your way tomorrow immediately after the Stakeholders meeting and after INEC must have released:
