‘Ghetto Soldier’ and former Glo brand ambassador, Daddy Showkey has recounted how he was abandoned by close friends he helped in the past after he was involved in a ghastly car crash in the year 2007.

The dancehall singer in an Instalive chat with a friend revealed that he was in the hospital for three years after the auto crash as friends he helped in the past never allowed him into their homes because he had next to nothing on him after he recovered.

According to the energetic performer who was quite popular for his popular 90’s hit ‘Diana’ and ‘Showkey’, the unfortunate accident happened when he was returning from a birthday party organised by Olu Maintain.


Daddy Showkey said that he had to drop his pride to be able to fend for his family and that he traveled to Warri in Delta state where he learnt a trade and was being paid salary by his boss.

According to the singer who got quite emotional during the interview, it was from that point in time that he had to force a rebuild of his confidence to face life’s many struggles. Watch the video below:
